Checking back over 2004's offerings, I found some schoolboy errors.
- Henze's 10th Symphony is described in the eponymous post as an Offence Against Terpsichore. The offended Muse was, of course, Euterpe. (I believe John Cleese once made the same mistake in a Python sketch.)
- In 'Legal, moral and prudent' I mentioned an Iraqi assassination attempt against the non-existent King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia in 1993. The king in question was (and is, though he's not very well) named Fahd.
I also regret having implied at the end of that post that only an absolute pacifist position could justify opposition to the invasion of Iraq. That was not my considered position at the time or now: a rational and humane man could have come to the opposite conclusion based on a different weighting of the factors involved.
